This spacer is the solution for your concerns and issues, including
high Exhaust Gas Temperatures, Excessive smoke, and excessive intake temperatures. Our billet Aluminum Grid Heater Delete allows for full removal of the heater grid, so essentially it acts as an elevated plenum and thus allowing optimum airflow increases to the cylinders which is normally choked off by the factory heater grid unit. Furthermore, this spacer is completely reversible, meaning that when you do have freezing temperatures, you can swap the spacer back to factory heater grid unit and you're all set again.  Installation typically takes 20-30 minutes.
