Worlds Fair Album of Chicago 1893

Description

This very rare album includes a unique collection of high quality photographs of architectural buildings and facilities of the 400th celebration of Columbus' "Discovery of America" in 1492, The Chicago World's Fair or the Colombian Exposition.  The area at the Court of Honor were known a the "White City" because the plaster coatings gave the buildings a white gleam.  In addition to the photographs there is a map of the layout in Jackson Park and several pages that give specific details of each building including their cost.
The pages have been separated from the binding but the front cover and the back are still connected by a cloth binding. The photos are in excellent condition but the pages are brittle and as the photographs show here most have some small pieces broken off from age.
