Rachis - customized Breyer Classic scale Scamper pegasus with real quail wings

Secondhand/recycled materials: Breyer Scamper, acrylic paint
Description: When I first got this sad, beat-up Scamper (in the Flicka coloration) I knew I had to make him into a pegasus. And he took the part beautifully! Because he was a little tippy, to the point where his right back leg was off the ground, I lengthened his tail just a bit and put a little extra bulk on his left rear hoof; he now stands quite nicely on a flat surface, and his left forehoof is off the ground just a bit. I painted him in earth tones reflecting the colors of his wings, which came from a domestic Japanese quail raised on a small farm for food and are dry-preserved. The wings are angled to help him balance as he rounds a corner, and the sculpting medium I used to help secure them is textured to look like very downy feathers.
Please note he is not LSQ; he has a few minor imperfections in his paint. He is also NOT a toy; the wings are very fragile. He is, however, a lovely art piece for your home!
This pegasus will be shipped with insurance and tracking. Please note shipping costs reflect the size and delicate nature of this piece; he's going to be shipped in a box big enough to accommodate him, plus enough packing material to keep him safe on his journey to you!
