    Description

I have for sale a souvenir medal for the 1893 Columbian Exposition that was held in Chicago, Illinois.  The medal is bronze, it is two inches in diameter and in uncirculated condition or very close to it.  This medal is listed in the Eglit catalog as #55.  The medal obverse at the rim reads CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS BORN 1456 DIED 1506.  In the center it shows Columbus.  On the reverse at the rim it reads SOUVENIR WORLD'S COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION, CHICAGO, U,S.A. 1892-1893.  In the center it shows two female figures with one seated and the other standing.  The exposition is in the background.  There is an eagle at the top holding a ribbon that reads E. PLURIBUS UNUM.  Below the scene it reads 1493-1892 - IV CENTENNIAL.  Please see more in my EBAY STORE at TE Collectables.  (17,312)
